About Our Organization
Make-A-Wish Central and Northern Florida grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
The dictionary will tell you that a wish is simply a hope or a desire for something. However, to a child facing a life-threatening medical condition, a wish is more than a desire—it’s an experience that can create a life-changing impact not only for the child, but also for families, friends, donors, sponsors and entire communities. A wish can help renew the joy of life, or rather the wholesome joy of being a kid.
A network of 65 chapters covering every U.S. community and nearly 25,000 volunteers enables the Make-A-Wish Foundation to grant children’s fondest wishes—in fact, one every 40 minutes.
The Central and Northern Florida chapter encompasses 54 counties serving two-thirds of the state including the Suncoast region’s Hernando, Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas and Polk counties.
Through the strength of our corporate and media partners, we have the ability to touch the lives of an increasing number of families. Please join us this year in granting over 85 wishes—an incredible mission that is possible when you believe in and share the Power of a Wish®!
